We believe the Old and
New Testaments of the Bible are the only inspired,
infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
-
We believe that God is
One God. He eternally exists in three persons: God the
Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
-
We believe in the
existence of Satan, who presently controls unsaved man. The
devil obtained his authority through deceiving Eve and
through Adam’s willful surrender in the Garden of Eden.
-
We believe in the deity
of our Lord Jesus Christ. We believe in His virgin birth and
in His sinless life. He performed miracles during His
earthly ministry, and we believe in His vicarious and
atoning death. He rose from the dead, He ascended to the
right hand of the Father, and He presently ministers as
Mediator and Surety of the New Testament. He is our High
Priest, Advocate and Intercessor, and He will personally
return at some future date to this earth in power and glory.
-
We believe that a person
can only receive salvation when he repents and acknowledges
the failure of his own way. He must commit to and confess
Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. God then births that person
anew in his spirit by the indwelling Holy Spirit. He becomes
and is called a child of God, His heir, and a joint heir
with Christ.
-
We believe that because
of our salvation through Jesus Christ, God frees us from the
bondage of sin. We can then yield ourselves to God as
servants of righteousness unto holiness.
-
We believe that agape
love for one another provides the evidence of our faith in
Jesus Christ and the proof of our discipleship. Jesus
commanded us to live with one another in agape love.
-
We believe that a person
declares his discipleship through baptism by immersion in
water. Baptism is a response of obedience from all who have
repented of their sins, believed on the Lord Jesus Christ,
and confessed their faith in Him.
-
We believe that the
baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, provides
the anointing with power for the New Testament believer. The
ability to speak in unlearned tongues comes with the baptism
in the Holy Spirit. Every disciple of Christ who responds in
faith to this promise can receive.
-
We believe that all of
the gifts of the Holy Spirit found in the New Testament
remain available to all believers today. These gifts prove
essential for accomplishing the work of God.
-
We believe that our
observance of communion is a response of obedience. We
participate in the new covenant meal of fellowship with the
Lord Jesus Christ, and we proclaim His death on our behalf.
-
We believe that the
death of Christ on the cross and His resurrection provides
us with: redemption from the curse of the law; forgiveness
of sins; creation anew spiritually; the fruit of the Spirit
in our lives as a natural consequence; physical healing;
authority over our adversary, the devil, and his fallen
host; prosperity in everything we put our hands to according
to His will; and eternal life.
-
We believe that the
commission that Jesus gave, as recorded in Matthew 28:19-20
is our biblical directive.
